How to get the Netflix Party Google add-on and use it
As was already said, the Netflix Party service is an add-on for the Google Chrome browser. Users must first sign in to Netflix on their computers and then follow the steps below to download the Netflix Party extension:
- In your Google Chrome browser, go to www.netflixparty.com
- Click on “Free Netflix Party.”
- It will send you to the Google Chrome Web Store page to download the extension.
- Click the Add to Chrome button
- After you install the extension, you’ll see a grey NP icon on your browser’s toolbar.
To take advantage of the Netflix Party add-on, you first need to begin viewing Netflix content through the Google Chrome web browser. You will notice that the previously grey NP icon has changed to red. Now you may start the party by clicking on the symbol and saying, “Start the party.”
You will serve as the host and have the option of maintaining control over halting and restarting the show or allowing any other participant to do so. Note the URL in the pop-up window, then send it to the people you wish to invite. When the chatroom loads, you’ll be able to see who else has joined the party and where they are located.
How it works is as follows:
It is up to each member of your group to log into their own Netflix party accounts. Simply select a movie or show to watch, and Netflix Party will make it, so everyone is watching the same thing simultaneously from their accounts. You and your friends will be able to interact and talk to one another in real-time thanks to the text chat function available on the screen of Netflix Party. Start playing a video on Netflix after you log in.
The grey icon for the Netflix Party extension next to your address bar should have turned red. Just click it.
You will see a window with “Create a Netflix Party” on it. You can control the playback completely or let everyone use it. Click “Get the party started.”
A link will appear in a new window. Click “Copy URL” and tell your friends about it. You can find this link again if you need to by clicking the icon for the Netflix Party extension.
Netflix Party will give you an icon on its own. You can change both the hero and your nickname by clicking on it.
